River Flying in New York
The East River in New York is a dangerous runway. Some of the pilots who pilot who fly above the East River are ferrying weekend vacationers to the Eastern reaches of Long Island. To hear the pilots speak, their yuppie spoiled customers can be more of a challenge than the river, coughing up discarded furniture, the murdered and the remains of those beyond-destitution.Oh, and if you were thinking of saving a few hours on the train, or the train fare, sorry Charlie.  In Growth Spurt, Columbia Is Buying Swath of Harlem

Columbia will replace an area of disused industrial buildings delined by Broadway, 125th Street, 12th Avenue and 133rd Street  with  a tree lined campus area of school buildings,  performing arts centers, research labs, a jazz club and dormitories.
